CNN - A new program is aiming to aid hungry pets. A new donation program called "Pet Food Stamps" can help people buy pet food and supplies.

The organization said the food stamps could help families avoid giving up their dog or cat because they can't afford food.

The program is open to anyone in the United States, but is not run by the government. The Pet Food Stamps organization could eventually expand to offer free or discount veterinary care.

The Pet Food Stamps website is located at http://www.petfoodstamps.org.

Many people especially in out laying communities need to be made aware of the pet food stamps propgram. Many pets would not go to shelters if people knew about this program. Many homeless people who have lost everything are forced to get up their beloved pets. You need to give this program more time and make an effort to spread the word,I posted it on my facebook. It is a program that could bring alot of joy and releif because they wouldnt have to give up their pets. I tried to access the website and couldnt get on. Barbara Feltner Hamilton Ohio
