A cat in Dallas, Texas is on a special diet at an animal shelter after he showed up there weighing twice as much as he should.

"Skinny" weighed in at a whopping 42 pounds when he first arrived.

The vet says "skinny" must have been brought up on a diet unhealthy even by human standards.

Now on cat food, skinny is down to 37 pounds.

He is so popular people sign up and volunteer just to come sit with him

He's probably a big, fat sweetie-pie of a kitty cat, too. I hope his health isn't permanently affected by this excessive weight. I thought MY cat was fat (she weighs 11 pounds; doesn't seem like so much by comparison).

The owner of this cat needs to be arrested for ANIMAL CRUELTY !! That's probably why the A$$ holes just drop him and left, so they wouldn't be.

It's believed that he had spent the past few years "dumpster divin" outside of the local MacD's. They are continuing treatment for his withdrawl symptoms from "big mac" attacks. :)
