Waiting on the PETA folks to chime in.

These elephants are owned by The Carson and Barnes Circus who leases them to Cole Bros. Both circuses have paid thousands of dollars in fines for violations of the Animal Welfare Act. These poor elephants are already back performing. To my knowledge they have not been checked out by a vet yet. They might look OK but injuries to a huge, heavy animal like an elephant being thrown around during an accident may not be realized yet, so we will have to see.
