When you feed your puppy or kitten, you need to supply all the nutrition they need to grow healthy and strong: *Extra protein for strong muscles and a healthy coat. *Extra calcium for strong bones and teeth. *Extra iron for healthy blood. *And extra calories for all the energy puppies and kittens burn. A good rule to follow is that, during the first few months after weaning, your pet needs twice the nutrition of an adult. Food for adults might not be formulated to supply your pet with proper nutrition for this critical period. At 3 to 4 weeks of age, your pet should be allowed to eat solid food. Keep a moistened pet food available at all times to provide complete and balanced nutrition. Allow your pet to eat at will until fully weaned at 6 to 8 weeks of age. After weaning, food can be either moistened or dry. Continue to keep the bowl filled at all times, or schedule feedings three times daily through 6 months and twice daily after 7 months. It's important to try to feed your pet at the same time every day. Also, avoid table scraps and always keep plenty of fresh water available in a clean bowl. For more information, talk with your veterinarian.

In Ohio, all dogs over three months of age must be registered (licensed) with the county auditor. The licensing of any dog residing in Hamilton County can be completed by using this mail-in form or by visiting any one of a number of convenient licensing agents. If you and your pet live outside of Hamilton County, please contact your local auditor's office for information.

Dog licensing is much more than a law you need abide by. The tags and the identification number they contain could also help return your prized pet to you should he or she become lost!
