There's no way to know whether or not your cat likes riding in a car until you try it. Some of them enjoy it, others don't. Before you decide to take it on a long trip, see how it reacts to short ones. The middle of nowhere is not the best spot to learn that your cat gets carsick. You can get tranquilizers from your vet, but some cats react badly to them. Be sure to find out how your kitty is going to be affected before your trip. Once you're in the car, be sure to confine your cat, either in a pet carrier or on a leash. For longer trips, phone ahead to make sure your reservations are at a hotel or motel that will take your cat. Be sure to pack all the supplies your cat will need. Food, water and a litter container are the bare minimum. Toys and treats are a good idea, too. Don't leave your pet alone in the car, especially in hot weather. The temperature in a closed car can rise to dangerous levels in a hurry. Once you've got everything you need for the trip, you and your cat are ready to travel. But even though cats are smart animals, don't plan on sharing driving duties.

In Ohio, all dogs over three months of age must be registered (licensed) with the county auditor. The licensing of any dog residing in Hamilton County can be completed by using this mail-in form or by visiting any one of a number of convenient licensing agents. If you and your pet live outside of Hamilton County, please contact your local auditor's office for information.

Dog licensing is much more than a law you need abide by. The tags and the identification number they contain could also help return your prized pet to you should he or she become lost!
