You can tell a lot about your pet's health by looking into it's eyes. Many diseases, cataracts, and infections can cause problems with your pet's eyes. Any discharge, swelling, redness, or squinting of the eyes can signal a problem. Injuries to the eye can be very serious and may result in blindness if not properly treated. Splashing water into the eyes is a good way to remove soap or other minor irritants. More serious problems should be examined by a veterinarian. If your pet's eyes become injured or infected, never use any medication without first consulting with your veterinarian, since the wrong medicine can do more harm than good. For more information on your pet's eye problems, contact your veterinarian.

In Ohio, all dogs over three months of age must be registered (licensed) with the county auditor. The licensing of any dog residing in Hamilton County can be completed by using this mail-in form or by visiting any one of a number of convenient licensing agents. If you and your pet live outside of Hamilton County, please contact your local auditor's office for information.

Dog licensing is much more than a law you need abide by. The tags and the identification number they contain could also help return your prized pet to you should he or she become lost!
