Eskimos designed the original kayak as a weapon. Harpoons were Tied on the front of the kayak and used to hunt seals, walrus, and small Whales. But today kayaks are considered a recreational vehicle. There are a number of kayaks available to choose from including river, ocean and whitewater models. These models come in a number of popular styles. Today's kayaks have carefully designed hull characteristics that Support a high load capacity as well as solid handling, stability and responsiveness. They're well proportioned and versatile, and are designed to accommodate a broad range of paddlers. Kayaks come in both one and two person models. Most offer high performance, speed and Dependability without sacrificing comfort. When you use a kayak, it almost feels as though you're part of the boat as you paddle along the Water, but the experience is no longer one of a cramped environment. Knowing that kayakers vary in size, manufacturers have developed several different models. Most kayaks are made of fiberglass with a Foam core. They generally range from 8 to 20 feet long and weigh between 50 and 100 pounds. They can cost anywhere from eight hundred To four thousand dollars.
