Types of Watercraft

Canoes
To choose the proper canoe, you must make an evaluation of your intended needs and uses. The four main types of canoes are recreation, touring, river-running and sporting.
Fishing boats
Fishing boats come in a number of styles including flats which have plenty of non skid surfaces, sport utilities used for quiet waters or brush covered coves and hi-performance off-shore fishing boats capable of holding triple 225 horsepower engines.
Inflatable boats and rafts
There are a number of inflatable boats and rafts available, but there's a big difference between an inflatable that's all right for a quiet pond, and one designed for more robust endeavors.
Kayaks
Eskimos designed the original kayak as a weapon. Harpoons were Tied on the front of the kayak and used to hunt seals, walrus, and small Whales. But today kayaks are considered a recreational vehicle.
Personal watercraft
With time and money always a premium, today's consumers are looking for ways to extend their recreational dollar. More and more consumers are choosing jet skis as their route to a water-thrilling adventure.
Recreation boats
The four basic categories of recreation boats include powerboats, sailboats, fishing boats, and personal boats. Powerboats are the largest. That's because any boat with an engine is considered a powerboat.
Sailboats
The basics of sailing are easily learned. After only a few lessons most people can handle small dinghies. Children adapt easily to sailing because it's a fun and very enjoyable sport.
Speedboats
The fastest speed for an outboard-powered vessel is 177 miles per hour, and while you probably won't be going that fast, if you're looking for speed on the water, you'll have plenty of options to choose from.
Tenders
Tenders are small watercrafts that get you between your anchored vessel and the shore, but they are more than just a work vehicle, they can be great fun in themselves.
