Golf isn't a terribly formal game, but many places do have dress codes. Some courses prohibit shorts, tee shirts or tank tops. Others may specify slacks, shirts with sleeves, or ladies' skirts. Check out the rules and regulations at the course where you'll be playing before you pick out a golf outfit. When shopping for golfing attire, keep two things in mind. You want clothing that's comfortable and gives you the freedom to swing your club. Cotton lets the air through, and is usually the fabric of choice. There are a few other items that most golfers prefer. A golf glove is important to prevent blisters, and a cap with a brim is good both for keeping the sun out of your eyes and cutting down on the chance of getting burned on sunny days. Beyond these basics, you can dress any way that feels good to you. Some golfers prefer to stand out in vibrant colors, while others like to dress in understated black and white. You might want to watch a tournament on T-V to see what the pros are wearing. In the world of golf, they generally set the fashion standards.
