You can easily prevent residential fires started by matches by exercising some simple precautionary methods. You should lock up matches if you have a child in the house. Telling children not to play with matches is not enough. Educate your family about fire safety. Your local fire department probably has safety programs for all ages, which are usually free and very effective. Before striking a match, you should close the cover or the matchbox. Fire safety isn't just for children. You should learn about fire prevention before fire harms you or your family.
