Neighborhood involvement is a great way to maintain security in your area. Talk to your neighbors and find out what car they drive, when they are usually home and when they'll be going out of town. Always check into any strange noise you hear and call your neighbor if you notice any strange activity. You can find crime prevention training through your local police department and eve get street signs warning that your neighborhood participates in a neighborhood watch program. The police department can help you learn the most effective safety measures to prevent entry into your home. Get you neighborhood involved in cleaning up the neighborhood, including mowing vacant lots, and providing safe places for kids to report problems. You should initiate the beginning of an effective neighborhood watch for your neighborhood.
