Today's spas come in a wide variety of different types, shapes, and sizes. You can choose from self-contained or 'portable' spas, custom-built in-ground spas, swim spas, and more. Most spas are round, but you can find them in many shapes, including square, rectangular, oval, and even octagonal. The typical spa is about six feet in diameter and four feet deep, and holds approximately 270 gallons of water, heated to about 102 degrees Fahrenheit. However, larger swim spas can come in lengths of 20 feet or more, and may feature strong jets that can hold you in place as you swim. Some spas have benches or lounges that seat two or more people, and offer a variety of therapy-jet configurations. Most spas come with controllable functions, such as jet and blower adjustments, zone valve management, air induction, and heater timing. New spa-side controls and remote options are an added convenience because you don't have to leave the comfort of the water to adjust the settings. For more information about spas, contact a dealer in your area.
