To dust your blinds, you can either use a special brush designed for that purpose or a standard vacuum brush. Begin by lowering the blinds, then dust the slats while they're facing downward. Adjust them so they're facing upward and repeat the process. If your blinds need washing, there are several methods you can try. To clean them while they're still hanging, spread newspapers under the area to catch drips, open the blinds, then wash each slat with a general purpose cleaner. Use a cloth to clean both the upper and lower sides at once. Follow the same procedure to rinse, then leave them open until they're completely dry. Another option is to take the blinds down and wash them in the bathtub. Use warm, sudsy water and clean each slat individually. Let the water drain and refill the tub to rinse. You may have to rinse more than once until the water remains clear. Spread out newspapers and put the blinds back in the window to dry. Finally, you can take them outdoors and wash them by hanging them from a clothesline. Wash each slat, then rinse with a hose. Let them air-dry before putting them back in the window.
