How to patch walls
Dings, dents, holes, and gouges in your interior walls can be fixed with moderate do-it-yourself skills, but first you have to know what kind of walls you have.
Mending window screens
Tiny holes in screens can easily be repaired with several applications of clear silicone glue. For larger holes in metal screening, start by cutting the hole into a square shape.
Repairing furniture
You'll need to fix any structural damage to furniture before refinishing furniture. Small holes and cracks can be filled with wood filler. Deeper ones may take two or more lighter applications.
Window sill repair
Over time, rain can seep in and rot the wood around your windows. Since this isn't a major structural repair, you can fix it yourself fairly easily. Begin by removing as much of the rotten wood as possible using a scraper and a wire brush.
Working on trim
Trim consists of all the material used in your home to conceal edges, finish joints, or add decoration to a room. This includes, baseboards, window and door casings, and ceiling moldings.
