If you're trying to become pregnant, you can use an ovulation predictor kit to determine when you're ovulating. This indicates the time in your cycle when you're most likely to conceive. If you want to predict ovulation, you can monitor your basal temperature, your cervix, or your cervical discharge. Another way to find out when you're most fertile is to use an ovulation predictor kit. You can buy one at most stores that sell pregnancy tests. By testing your urine around the same time every day, the test detects a surge in a hormone that usually triggers the release of the egg from the ovarian. Fertilizing the released egg at this time or immediately before it gives you the best chance of becoming pregnant. Many women have used the test to successfully predict ovulation and have conceived. There are some things to keep in mind about these tests. They only detect a surge of the hormone, not actual ovulation. Many times the hormone is released in small surges before the real big surge, triggering ovulation, so it might make it hard to interpret results accurately. Women over 40 or approaching menopause might not receive accurate results from the kit because they already have elevated levels of the hormone in their system.
