WAIS, or Wide Area Information Server, is a full text-search system available on the Net. It is a database system that lets you search for documents that contain the information you are looking for. Unlike most search programs, WAIS works better if you give it more terms rather than a few keywords. For example, if you are looking for information on computers, you can enter several keywords like software, terminal and networks. To do a WAIS search, point your Web browser to http://www.wais.com/directory-of-servers.htm/ then type some words describing what you want to read about and click search. For more information on WAIS, please contact your local Internet service provider.
