Spamming is the act of sending many copies of a message, usually one selling a product or service, or promoting an idea or cause to as many groups as possible. It is annoying to the parties receiving the unwanted information, and in some cases, the spammer is liable for his or her provider's expenses in cleaning it up. Automatic systems can identify and cancel most spams within minutes after they occur. Spamming, when reported to the system administrator, can cause the suspension or cancellation of the account. Most Internet service providers adhere to these cancellation policies in order to protect the rest of the subscribers. For more information on spamming, please contact your local Internet service provider.
