There are hundreds of millions of web pages on the Internet, so the problem isn't so much what you can find as how you can sort through all the information to get what you want. The most common way of finding things on the Web is by using search engines. These are programs that look all through the entire network to find words and phrases that correspond with your search query. And the Web has plenty to choose from. Whether you're interested in history, politics, or alien abductions, there's a wealth of knowledge available. But be careful. Anybody can put up a website, so you have to assess how reliable the information seems to be. That's only the information side of the Web. You can also make new friends in chat rooms, post your opinions in forums, or play a wide variety of games. Take your time looking around, and when you find a site that you like, be sure and bookmark it or add it to your favorites so you can find it again.
