Maintaining healthy skin is part of an ongoing process of daily skin care. There are several factors that affect the appearance and condition of your skin. It's important to establish a regular skin care regimen early on and maintain this regimen throughout your life. A good skin care program generally includes at least four products: a cleanser, masque, toner, and moisturizer. The quality of the program depends on the quality of the products. As a general rule, avoid products with SD (S-D) alcohol 40 and mineral oil. The alcohol will dry out your skin and the mineral oil clogs pores, leaving your skin more susceptible to breakouts. Since the loss of moisture is a major cause of wrinkles, water is essential for the hydration of the skin to keep it moist, soft, supple, and clear. The average person needs six to eight glasses of water each day. Not only will drinking water improve your skin, it'll also help rid your body of waste materials. Other important components of daily skin care include getting plenty of rest, maintaining a regular exercise program, and avoiding alcohol and caffeine. Eating a diet rich in natural foods and balanced in protein, fat, and carbohydrates will help your skin as well as your general health. Daily skin care is part of an overall healthy lifestyle that is necessary for your well-being.
