One option offered by car dealers is a sunroof. Some sunroofs open completely, while others simply tilt upwards, allowing fresh air to enter the car. There are both automatic and manual sunroofs, although manual sunroofs are less common. Sunroofs are available from the manufacturer or as an aftermarket option. Since sunroofs often create wind noise when open, it may be to your benefit to have a wind deflector installed to provide noise reduction. This is usually a piece of flexible metal attached to the front of the sunroof opening. When the sunroof is opened, the deflector automatically pops up; It folds down upon closing the sunroof. In addition to the sunroof, many vehicles also have a moonroof. A moonroof is a clear piece of glass on the roof of the car that allows the passengers to see the sky without actually opening the moonroof. Usually, the moonroof has a solid cover that slides back and forth, allowing you to keep the sunlight out of the car. Therefore, you have the option to open the entire sunroof or simply slide back the solid cover to see the sky. If you have tinted windows, the moonroof glass can be tinted to match the rest of the windows. This will provide further protection from light and heat.
