There are certain things you can do to make ordering a new car easier and less expensive. First, you should find several you like that fall within your price range. By doing this, you can improve your negotiation position. In selecting a car, consider its safety record, reliability, fuel economy, warranty, theft rate, options and special features. Next, take a test drive. Check the car's visibility, seating and headroom, noise level and overall handling to determine if the vehicle meets your needs. Before placing your order, be prepared to negotiate. Keep in mind that sticker prices, rebates, inventory, and tax, title and license contribute to a car's final selling price. You can generally save money by ordering your new car instead of buying it directly from the lot. When a dealership has no investment in the car, it is often able to sell it for slightly over the invoice amount. Once it arrives, inspect it closely before taking final possession as this can ensure the car meets all of the standards you and the dealership agreed upon.
