Justin Bieber Releases Statement About L.A. Accident

Singer Justin Bieber is speaking out after a tragic accident.

A paparazzo was hit by a car and killed Tuesday night in Los Angeles. 

According to police, the man had snapped photos of a person he thought was Bieber sitting in the pop star's Ferrari during a traffic stop.

He was hit when he ran across the street trying to return to his own vehicle.

Bieber says he was not in the car and released a statement offering his condolences to the man's family and saying:

Bieber says he was not in the car and released a statement offering his condolences to the man's family and saying:


"Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves."

Police do not expect to file any charges.
