LOS ANGELES (AP) - A Hollywood star is getting a facelift.
But the luminary in question isn't a she or even a he.
This star is the Hollywood sign. The sign was rebuilt 35 years ago.
Starting today, it will be stripped down to sheet metal, primed and given a new coat of white paint.
It will take 10 weeks. Here's a bit of trivia. When the sign was first built in the early 1920s, it read "Hollywoodland." It promoted a real estate development.
