Kelly and her band have worked really hard to get where they have gotten. They deserve and have earned their time to shine. Good Job Kelly!!! Wyatt will be proud.

I googled it right after commenting. Whirling dervishing isn't an instrument, it's a type of dancing.

Ricky Bobby - they call it a bass. The Sundresses play music they wrote, and the column really should feature original bands. Great music is made here so they have plenty of material for this feature: aside from major label bands like Afghan Whigs, Blessid Union of Souls, Walk the Moon and Foxy Shazaam, both Rolling Stone and Spin have spilled many stars on Wussy and Bad Veins. Seedy Seeds, Buffalo Killers, and The Sundresses represent the next wave. I can't think of any cover bands that have been invited to SXSW 4 times like the Sundresses or Wussy. They tour constantly, and have pioneered industry-shaking ideas like "living records" that grow ("Sundresses OFF" adds fresh music and video constantly - early buyers get the most stuff, unlike reissues where the laggards get the rewards) without the need for a label. It's a great time for music fans in Cincy.

To add to my comment about ChasingBlue...He wrote a song about his home town called "Queen City Feel"

They should have ChasingBlue on here. One of the lead singers is a home town kid. He graduated from SCPA high school and went on to graduate from Berklee College of Music in Boston MA. They are a great band...check them out on you tube, facebook and they have their own website...
