-Friday February 11th

Materials:
-Fire Extinguisher with CO2
-Crazy Cart with Plastic Stool
-Crash Helmet
-Safety Goggles
Procedure:
Build a cart sunig (2) 36" 2"x4"s, a piece of 1/2 inch plywood, 10 wheels, and a stool. I have included pictures of the cart that I built for this experiment. Different variations will work. Make sure the cart is as frictionless as possible. I have also included pictures of the fire extinguisher containing CO2 and the nozzle that is used. The nozzle should be pointed away from the face of the rider. The compressed CO2 gets shot out under the stool.
What's Happening?
Newton's 3rd Law says that forces always come in pairts where each of the two forces are equal in size and occur in opposite directions. The fire extinguisher pushes air out in the one direction so the cart and the rider will go in the opposite direction.
