Survivor Fan Poll
Just where Is Gabon, anyway?
Gabon lies along the western shores of Africa and is bordered by Equatorial Guinea and Congo. The country is roughly the size of Colorado, nearly 80% of which is heavily forested.

Still, this vast jungle country is interspersed with some savannah regions and is even home to a population of lowland gorillas.

Libreville, the nations' capital, is by far Gabon's biggest city, home to nearly half of the country's estimated 1.5 million residents. The nation's economy is dominated by the oil industry, which comprises about 65% of the Gabon budget. However, oil production here peaked in 1997 and--according to the U.S. Department of State--little planning has been done for an after-oil economy in Gabon.
