Closed Captioning
For almost two decades, Local 12 WKRC-TV has been committed to serving the needs of our hearing impaired viewers by offering closed-captioned programming for all local newscasts.
In Fall 2005, Local 12 was pleased to elevate that service by introducing real-time closed captioning for all local newscasts. Unfortunately, recent financial limitations have made it necessary for us to reduce the number of local newscasts that will continue to be available in real-time closed captioning.
The following broadcasts will remain real-time closed captioned: *
Monday through Friday Local 12 News at 5:00, 5:30 and 6:00 pm
Monday through Sunday Local 12 News at 11:00 pm
Saturday Local 12 News at 6:00 pm
Sunday Local 12 News at 6:30 pm
In addition, we will continue to offer real-time captioning in any situation affecting the safety or well being of our viewers.
We are proud to continue to offer the most real-time captioning available in the Cincinnati market. We also assure our hearing impaired viewers that we are working very, very hard to find the financial resources to allow us to return to 100% real-time closed captioning for all Local 12 newscasts as soon as possible.
We remain very committed to our rich history of serving the needs of all members of our community and hope to return to our expanded service very soon.
