27 year old Staff Sergeant Rick Pummill of Union Township died October 20,2005 in a roadside bombing outside Bagdad.
Pummill joined the Marines after graduating from Anderson High School in 1996 where he played football and was involved in wrestling. Pummill was a Marine recruiter, but decided to get back to active combat after the attacks of September 11, 2001.
He left behind a wife and a son Donald, who was three at the time of Pummill's death.
