25-year old Staff Sergeant Nicholas Carnes of Ludlow, Kentucky died in August 26, 2007 after coming under enemy fire in Lewanne Bazaar, Afghanistan.
Carnes parents say he entered the military at age 17, between his junior and senior years of High School.
Carnes died just days before he was set to go on scheduled leave, during which he planned to celebrate his wedding anniversary.
