31 year old Sergeant First Class Jason Bishop of Williamstown died on January 1, 2006 when his Humvee was hit by a roadside bomb in Siniyah, Iraq.

Bishop was assigned to the 1st Squadron, 33rd Cavalry, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division out of Fort Campbell. He grew up in Covington but moved to Williamstown and graduated in 1993 from Holmes High School where he was a member of the ROTC.

Bishop left behind a wife and toddler son, and a 9 year old daughter from a previous marriage.

He is buried at Calvary Cemetery in Louisville.
