20 year old Private First Class Zachary Gullett of Hillsboro died May 1, 2007 after collapsing during calisthenics in Iraq. Gullett was injured on March 17th while on patrol south of Baghdad.
He suffered a concussion in an attack and was sent home to recover before returning to duty a week prior to his death.
Gullet was a 2004 graduate of Hillsboro High School. He joined the Army in February 2006 and was deployed in September of that year for a 12-month tour of duty.
He is buried at Hillsboro Cemetary.
