19 year old Private First Class Tony Seig of Sunman died on September 9, 2006, when a rocket hit his barracks.
Seig was a 2005 graduate of East Central High School where he played football and was known as a clean cut kid who toed the line,
Seig left for Army boot camp shortly thereafter and was sent to Iraq 2 months before his death. His family asked that his remains be cremated and the ashes spread at the family homestead he loved so much.
He died just 9 days before his 20th birthday.
