Scott received his diploma from Peebles High School in 2009, where he ran track and cross country and played soccer. He spent his last two years of high school attending Adams County Career and Technical Center. He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.

Those who knew Scott say he always dreamed of becoming a Marine.
