36 year old Chief Petty Officer Gregory Billiter of Villa Hills died in combat on April 6, 2007 near Kirkuk, Iraq.

Billiter was a 1987 graduate of Covington Latin where he played basketball and soccer. He graduated in 1991 from the University of Dayton with a degree in marketing.

He joined the Navy in 1992 and was a member of the Navy's Explosive Ordinance Disposal Unit, whose job it is to dismantle un-exploded bombs. 
Billiter was serving his third tour of duty in Iraq.

He left behind a wife and toddler son.
