42 year old First Sergeant Ricky McGinnis of Hamilton was killed on October 26, 2006 by a roadside bomb in Muqdadiyah, Iraq.
McGinnis served a unit based in Fort Hood, Texas. He served in Korea and Kuwait before heading to Iraq. McGinnis joined the military at age 19. His nephew also joined the military and was serving in the same unit.
Family members say he was a loving husband and proud father of four daughters.
