ok Cincy84 I appreciate the history lesson you may not be that way but trust me there are alot that are, and because people are held accoutable for being racist or prejudice to any degree!!! And oh please you and I both know race has something to do with EVERYTHING either directly or indirectly and you know when a person of color has any type of superior position he's going to be held to a higher standard than a white man so please!!!!

They should have fired him. The man has never won the big dance. Everywhere he has been he has had great talent, but he can't get the job done. Management has screwed up again!

here we go! I knew someone would pull the race card, okay southernboy31, managers before Dusty were ripped apart in the media also and they didn't just get called out in the media they were FIRED!!! Has Dusty been fired? NO! People like you just sit and wait to pull the race card out just to here yourself talk. Fans did not like Ray Knight (Fired) he was white, Dave O'Miley (Fired) he was white, Jerry Naron (FIRED) he was white, Bell (FIRED) he was white. So if I was taking your stance and playing the race card then wouldn't we be racist towards white managers? Guess who hasn't been fired? DUSTY!! People hate losing, esp in the playoffs the way he did. There might be some people who might not like because of his color but to say the real reason why people don't like Dusty because he is black? Get real dude, why don't you go find an Indian and ask him/her about racism and how the Indians are treating in this country, if you can even find one since most of the true Indians in the world have been killed off. I don't know if you've noticed but the Reds and Bengals both have black coaches, people still go to the games, people still buy the jerseys. Two of the most popular players in this city (Phillips and AJ Green) are black!! Get over yourself and save the race card when it's actually needed. Cry wolf so many times before no ones listens.

drewstall - 2:44... but since Dusty just had a stroke, maybe someone in the head office should have made that executive decision. That would make it the head offices' fault. The Front Office can't can a guy who has stuck with them for so long and accomplished so much. But Dusty should have the opportunity to bow out gracefully. He has an idea reason-hjis health. "It is nice to be asked and I am grateful for the opportunity the Reds organization has provided me, the team and the staff are like family by now, but due to recent health concerns I announce my retirement." got it.

HammeringHank, I agree with everything you typed. I think Dusty was 100% out managed in the playoffs but if Rolen makes that throw to 1st we're not even having this conversation (or least until another week). I just think we have other issues that we need to address.

drewstall you are correct the executive office should have recognized he wasn't 100% and benched him....the Yankees benched ARod because he wasn't performing maybe we should have benched Baker and Votto! HA!

Cincy84, your right, he cant make guys hit baseballs but he can pull a pitcher when hes in trouble and change the batting order trying to spark the offense. After 2 straight home losses I just felt he needed to throw everything he had at San Fran and use every possible weapon in his arsenal.
