Findlay Market first opened in 1855 to serve the teeming Over the Rhine district.

152 years later Findlay is the lone survivor among the nine original city owned market houses because it has adapted.

The most recent modernization came on line in 2002-2003 with the hope that the market will be the cornerstone of a revived community.

Findlay market is one of the most diverse places in the region.

Every week from the suburbs and the inner city, high income and low, black and white, as well as newly arrived immigrants speaking a variety of languages rub shoulder every week.

Thanksgiving week, the most American of all holidays seems like a good time to catch up on what is happening at Findlay Market.

I am joined now by Robert Pickford, the director of the Corporation for Findlay Market.

The corporation is the not for profit entity that contracted with the city in 2004 to manage the market.

And Cheryl Eagleson, the marketing director for the corporation.
