A local community caps off an effort today to clean up a neighborhood with new homes. A blitz began 90 days ago in Northside. It ends today with a ribbon cutting on Fergus Street.
The new homes replace a corner store that attracted drug traffic and other crime. This is the first project of the Northside Community Urban Redevelopment Corporation.
The blitz began in September. The city chose the area after analyzing building code violations, police calls and vacant buildings.
