Local homeowners who are having trouble paying their mortgage can get help. The City of Cincinnati is holding a foreclosure phone-a-thon.
Last time, they had counselors giving advice on just eight phones, and they were overwhelmed. But for the next three days, they'll have certified home ownership counselors manning 75 phones.
The city of Cincinnati says they handled about 100 calls an hour on Wednesday. They've got overflow operators in another state handling some of the calls and volunteers from U.S. Bank are also on duty.
The City of Cincinnati is partnering with the Homeownership Center of Greater Cincinnati, CET, and Neighborworks America and any homeowner in the area can call the hotline.
1-877-7-BUZZ-US (1-877-728-9987) is the number to call. You can phone in today from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
