Most of the concerns about the H1N1 vaccine have been about supply. Now, health care providers need volunteers to help give it out.

Local 12's Liz Bonis explains how they are meeting this need in today's Health Alert.

"You know, one big concern has always been about staffing these flu clinics, and today here at the Rothenberg Preparatory academy they are getting some special help."

That help is from volunteers... today's group includes students from the University of Cincinnati College of Nursing.

Jane Christianson, University of Cincinnati: "These students are all voluntary, and they are all coming on an off day."

Sheryl Denolf, Student Volunteer: "In a sense it is, because today is a community thing, what we are doing is helping the community. It's helping educate kids and their families. I've gotten all the shots, and I think it's important to teach people why you need to get the shots and nursing is just a lot about education."

Ken Sharkey from the Cincinnati Health Department says they could never make this clinic happen without them. Each day, the medical volunteers are a critical piece of success.

Ken Sharkey, Cincinnati Health Department: "With the budget cuts that we've had this has been very helpful that we really can operate these clinics efficiently and make sure people are flowing smoothly."
