For the second week in a row, Miami University quarterback ZAC DYSERT (Ada) has been named the Mid-American Conference's East Division Offensive Player of the Week.
Dysert's record-shattering performance at Akron in Miami's 56-49 victory set numerous Miami, MAC and national standards. He became the first player in NCAA FBS history to pass for 500 yards (516) and rush for 100 yards (108) in the same game.
Senior quarterback Zac Dysert (Ada, Ohio) set numerous Miami and MAC records as the RedHawks improved its MAC record to 2-0 with a 56-49 victory over Akron at InfoCision Stadium. Dysert threw a school-record six touchdown passes, topping the standard held by Ben Roethlisberger, Sam Ricketts and himself. He accounted for 516 yards through the air -- second-most in school history -- completing 34 of 49 attempts (.694). He added 108 yards on the ground, including a career-best 40-yard gain, his best ever and second career-game over the century mark, to set a MAC record for total offense at 624 yards. Dysert completed 12 passes that accounted for 20 yards or more against the Zips.
