CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The University of Northwestern Ohio (UNOH) will be the title sponsor Kentucky Speedway’s UNOH 225 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series event though 2015 under the terms of an extended corporate partnership.

The third UNOH 225 in Kentucky Speedway history will open a tripleheader NASCAR weekend on Thursday, June 27, 2013. The NASCAR Nationwide Series Feed The Children 300 will follow on Friday, June 28 and the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Quaker State 400 will provide the weekend finale on Saturday, June 29.

Located in Lima, Ohio, UNOH grants master's, baccalaureate, and associate degrees through its Colleges of Applied Technologies, Business, Occupational Professions, Health Professions, and Graduate Programs along with online degree options. The College of Applied Technologies prepares students for careers in the motorsports and automotive industries through specialized automotive, high performance motorsports, diesel, agricultural, and alternate fuels programs.

The UNOH College of Applied Technologies has built a storied motorsports history through its involvement in the ARCA Racing Series, three NASCAR national touring series, and events such as the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour UNOH Perfect Storm 150 contested at the Bristol Motor Speedway.

“Everyone at the University of Northwestern Ohio is excited about extending our relationship with Kentucky Speedway and continuing the UNOH 225” said UNOH President Dr. Jeffrey A. Jarvis. “The opportunities this relationship provides for our current students, the exposure of UNOH to our future students and the business to business opportunities that the staff at Kentucky Speedway provides, makes extending this successful partnership an easy decision.”

Kentucky Speedway will support the event entitlement with a wide array of promotional activities.

“UNOH is a terrific partner and a tremendous asset to the motorsports community. We are proud to continue our partnership and look forward to helping UNOH continue its impressive growth for years to come,” Kentucky Speedway General Manager Mark Simendinger said.

The 2013 UNOH 225 will be the 16th NCWTS event in Kentucky Speedway history. Turner Motorsports driver, James Buescher, completed the first single-season, two-race NCWTS Bluegrass State sweep with a 201-mile victory on Sept. 21. He also took the checkered flag for the speedway’s June 28 UNOH 225 earlier this season. Buescher and Ron Hornaday Jr., are the only drivers to earn repeat NCWTS victories at the speedway. Kyle Busch took an inaugural UNOH 225 victory on July 7, 2011 in a Kyle Busch Motorsports machine.
