(GREENVILLE, Pa.) - Thomas More College swept the Presidents' Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player and Coach of the Year Awards and had three Saints named All-PAC by the conference's head coaches.
Senior guard Allison Long (Hebron, Ky./Conner) was named the PAC Player of the Year and earned first team All-PAC honors. She leads the team in scoring with 17.7 points per game, assists with 99, steals with 81 and is fourth in blocked shots with eight. Long is shooting 48.9 percent (177-of-362) from the field, including 41.8 percent (71-of-170) from three-point range and has pulled down 2.6 rebounds per game.
Head Coach Jeff Hans was named PAC Coach of the Year after guiding the Saints to a 27-1 record, including a perfect 18-0 record in the PAC and the PAC regular season and tournament titles. The regular season title was the Saints' eighth-straight and the tournament was the Saints' seventh-straight. He has also led the Saints to their seventh-straight NCAA Tournament and 11th overall since joining the NCAA in 1990.
Senior guard Katie Kitchen (Alexandria, Ky./Campbell County) joined Long on the first team. She is second on the team in scoring with 11.1 points per game and has 4.0 rebounds per game. Kitchen is second on the team in steals with 55 and has also dished out 41 assists and recorded five blocked shots.
Junior guard Devin Beasley (Burlington, Ky./Conner) was an honorable mention selection by the conference's head coaches. She is second on the team in assists with 98 and fourth in scoring with 9.0 point per game. Beasley has 28 steals, five blocked shots and 2.3 rebounds per game this season.
The Saints will find out their NCAA Tournament first round opponent and location of the game on Monday (February 25, 2013) will the NCAA announces the brackets at 2:30 p.m.
