Miami Junior Forward Bill Edwards Out for Season

OXFORD, Ohio—Miami University redshirt junior forward Bill Edwards (Middletown, Ohio/Middletown/Penn State) will be out for the rest of the season due to a left knee injury sustained just minutes into the RedHawks’ game with James Madison on Saturday, Nov. 24.

 

Edwards suffered a torn ligament and will undergo surgery on Monday (Dec. 3).

 

He played in five games for the RedHawks in 2012-13, making four starts. Prior to the James Madison game, Edwards was averaging 10.8 ppg and 3.8 rpg. He finishes the season averaging 9.2 ppg and 3.0 ppg. Last season, Edwards also was sidelined for most of the season due to a wrist injury. He played in seven games in 2011-12, making four starts and averaged 6.7 ppg and 5.6 rpg.
