MACON, Ga. – Northern Kentucky University’s Eshaunte Jones has been selected to the All-Atlantic Sun Conference first team, the league office announced Tuesday.

Jones, a 6-foot-4 senior guard from Fort Wayne, Ind., averages 15.8 points per game and has made 80 shots from 3-point range this season. He helped the Norse post a 9-9 record in the Atlantic Sun Conference and tie for fourth place in theleague standings.

Jones averaged 19.5 points per game last week as Northern Kentucky defeated NorthFlorida and Jacksonville. He scored a career-high 30 points Thursday night to lead the Norse to a 72-45 win over North Florida. In that game, Jones also netted his 1,000th career point and was 10-for-15 from the field with six 3-pointers.

On Saturday night, Jones helped Northern Kentucky wipe out a 13-point deficit in the final 2:36 of the game as the Norse rallied for a 66-62 victory. He finished with nine points, three rebounds and two steals in that victory.

Jones has 1,009 career points in his collegiate career, which began at Nebraska. He earned the Atlantic Sun Conference Player of the Week honor twice this season, which is Northern Kentucky’s debut as a Division I program.

Florida Gulf Coast’s Sherwood Brown was named the A-Sun Player of the Year, while teammate Bernard Thompson earned Defensive Player of the Year honors. Mercer’s Bob Hoffman was selected Coach of the Year, and Lipscomb’s Stephen Hurt was named Freshman of the Year.
