YPSILANTI, Mich. (AP) - Derek Thompson scored 16 points to lead Eastern Michigan to a 65-58 victory over Miami on Saturday.

           

Glenn Bryant had 13 points for the Eagles (9-9, 2-2 Mid-American) and Daylen Harrison scored all 10 of his points in the first half for Eastern Michigan. The Eagles shot 58 percent in the first half in building a 38-25 lead.

           

Will Felder led the RedHawks (7-9, 2-2) with 12 points and nine rebounds. Allen Roberts finished with 11 points.

           

It was Eastern Michigan's first win over Miami since Feb. 6, 1997 - the RedHawks had won the last 16 meetings.

           

Miami trailed by 14 midway through the second half, but came within 60-58 on Jon Harris' 3-pointer with 1:49 remaining. But Jalen Ross made two free throws with 56 seconds to play for the Eagles, and Bryant hit three free throws in the final 30 seconds to complete the scoring.
