Cyclones Receive Forward Josh Birkholz from San Antonio

CINCINNATI , Ohio – The Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators announced today that forward Josh Birkholz has been loaned to the club by the San Antonio Rampage of the American Hockey League.

Birkholz, 21, potted a team-leading 29 goals and 57 points in 70 games last season with the Everett Silvertips of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The Maple Grove, Minnesota native recorded 47 goals, 39 assists, and 86 points in 138 career games with the Silvertips, and also totaled five goals and six points in 36 career games at the University of Minnesota (NCAA). Birkholz was selected by the Florida Panthers in the third round (67th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The Cyclones hit the road TONIGHT to battle the Toledo Walleye at the Huntington Center for a 7:05 opening face-off. Hear all the action of the game on CyclonesHockey.com starting at 6:45pm. The Cyclones will return to the ice at U.S. Bank Arena TOMORROW NIGHT to face the Trenton Titans at 7:30pm.
