It is a hot topic for baseball fans nationwide. Who will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame as part of the class of 2013?

The list of candidates includes several controversial names, including first-time nominees Barry Bonds, Roger Clemmons, and Sammy Sosa. All three are entangled in the steroid era of baseball.

Mark McGuire is on the list for the second time. He has admitted to using steroids during his playing days. The issue has some baseball writers upset.

The hall is voted on by the Baseball Writers' Association of America. About 600 people are eligible to vote. Some have said they left their ballot blank or chose not to send anything at all.

A total of 37 players are on the 2013 ballot. Any player who gets votes on at least 75 percent of all ballots cast will become part of the 2013 class.

Since 1965, the only years the writers failed to elect a candidate were in 1971 and 1996.

The article is not written or proof-read with much baseball knowledge. Any serious or casual fan would know it's Roger Clemens, not Roger Clemmons.

Seems like the year to put "Shoeless" Joe Jackson in the Baseball Hall of Fame. Career statistics : Batting average .356, Hits 1,772, Home runs 54, Runs batted in 785, Hit .408 as a rookie in 1911 World Series champion (1917) Third highest career batting average (.356)
