CINCINNATI - For the second consecutive year, the University of Cincinnati men's basketball team has been selected by adidas to wear specialized adizero uniforms throughout its 2012-13 postseason run beginning with the BIG EAST Conference Championship, the footwear and apparel company announced jointly with UC on Thursday.

The uniforms feature adidas' most advanced uniform technologies and a limited-edition camouflage print designed to make an impact on the court. Cincinnati will wear the new uniforms beginning at the BIG EAST Championship, March 12-16 at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

"The adizero uniform system gives players the leading performance technology with a distinctive on-court style," said Chris McGuire, adidas Director of Sports Marketing. "These uniforms celebrate the excitement of the game letting teams stand out during college basketball's biggest postseason moments. Cincinnati will wear the most innovative basketball uniforms and footwear to help them elevate their game during the most important time of the year."

The impact camo-patterned uniforms will be worn by UC along with Baylor, Louisville, Notre Dame and UCLA.

Fans can find the UC jerseys and shorts available online at adidas.com and UC's official team store (http://shop.gobearcats.com). Other retailers scheduled to have the gear available are Dick's Sporting Goods, Champs, DuBois, Follett, Cardboard Heroes, Eastbay (online), Fanatic (online) and Fansedge (online).

"We are thrilled once again to be among the handful of schools adidas has selected to promote during postseason play," UC Director of Athletics Whit Babcock said. "The student-athletes really enjoyed wearing the uniforms during March Madness last season and our program received great visibility."

Designed for a bold on-court look the adizero uniform system is made from 60 percent recycled materials and features FORMOTION technology for comfort and maximum mobility during shooting and dribbling. The uniforms feature adidas' quick drying Revolution 30 technology found in current NBA uniforms and ClimaCool zones which move heat and moisture away from the body to keep the jersey light and dry during heavy sweating. The super-lightweight woven short is designed for improved breathability and a closer, more comfortable fit with compression base layers.

The adizero uniform system features the latest adidas Team Speed sock with built-in compression for stability and CLIMALITE moisture wicking technology designed to keep the foot cool, light and dry throughout the game. Players will wear the adidas Crazy Fast basketball shoe with a new SPRINTWEB design that features tighter panels on the upper to improve support, reduce weight and make players quicker and more comfortable on the court.

"It's special for our program to be among a small group of schools chosen to partner with adidas this postseason," UC head coach Mick Cronin said. "I know the guys are looking forward to taking the floor in the new uniforms."

Since 2006, adidas has been the official outfitter for UC Athletics.
