Dinosaurs Unearthed features more than 20 life-sized roaring, moving dinosaurs, full skeletons, fossils, and reports on significant dinosaur discoveries. Learn about what the dinosaurs ate, when and where they lived, how they protected themselves, and how they adapted to their prehistoric world.

Dinosaurs Unearthed also features new scientific findings that prove the existence of feathered dinosaurs. Be among the first to see what they looked like! The feathered dinosaurs in the exhibit bring to life the variety of new bird-like dinosaurs being discovered in northeastern China. This "window" into the past has provided a unique "snapshot" of a previously unknown fossil ecosystem.

About Dinosaurs Alive
Dinosaurs Alive is a global adventure of science and discovery! The film features the earliest of dinosaurs of the Triassic Period to those of the Cretaceous Period. Experiencing these "reincarnated" life-sized creatures on the five-story domed OMNIMAX screen in conjunction with 15,000 watts of Dolby digital sound is like going back in time. Join some of the world's preeminent paleontologists as they reveal which descendants of dinosaurs walk, or even fly, among us. From the exotic, trackless expanses and sand dunes of Mongolia's Gobi Desert to the dramatic sandstone of New Mexico, the film will follow American Museum of Natural History paleontologists as they explore some the greatest dinosaur finds in history.

Watch as newly discovered creatures, and even some familiar favorites, come alive through the magic of scientifically accurate computer-generated animation! Audiences will be introduced to breakthrough discoveries, including the first Velociraptor, the first dinosaur nests with eggs, and fossils of early mammals that lived alongside dinosaurs in the Late Cretaceous Period. The film features actual footage from the 1920's as scientist and adventurer Roy Chapman Andrew led a team on five expeditions to the Gobi Desert to make these finds.

Following in the footsteps of Andrews, paleontologists, Mike Novacek and Mark Norell, have been making annual expeditions every year since 1990 to the Gobi where they discovered some of the greatest dinosaur fossils ever found...like entire communities of animals, perfectly preserved.

Immerse yourself in a world without humans as fossilized bones tell the stories of what life was like some 230 to 65 million years ago. Watch as one of the most dramatic sequences in the film features a Velociraptor and a Proterceratops locked in mortal combat. Feel the behemoth thundering sounds of the recently discovered long-necked Seismosaurus (meaning "thunder lizard"), measuring at 121-feet long. Finally, follow a group of graduate students as they discover one of the oldest dinosaurs ever found in North America.

Dinosaurs Alive brings dinosaurs back to life on the OMNIMAX screen...in a BIG way! Don't miss it!
